about

Renée about this song:

Another song that I wrote during my cancer journey, Buddha came out of feeling inundated with all of the information I could possibly lay my hands on regarding healing, well being and healthy living. It’s definitely a little tongue in cheek. I did give up coffee for awhile, but I’m back on it now.

lyrics

Lyrics:

Green tea, green tea, I gave up coffee look at me
Corn fed family freak, next is alcohol and meat
Cramp cage, free range, victimize, assimilate
Dairy gone, wheat, weight, everybody clean your plate

Please, pass the Buddha. A hit of Mr. B, open eye number three
Pass the Buddha, please. I’m ready to land, I gotta get him in my hand
Pass the Buddha, please. I need a little calm, the west has gone so wrong

Big house, fast car, what you drive is who you are
Nest egg, five star, Joie de vivre and caviar
Breath deep, water leak, oxygen supply is weak
Wise seed, noble deed, impermanent created thing

Please, pass the Buddha. A hit of Mr. B, open eye number three
Pass the Buddha, please. I’m ready to land, I gotta get him in my hand
Pass the Buddha, please. I need a little calm, the west has gone so wrong

You can tell yourself you’re living pretty conscious and clean
Turn around to find you’ve fallen straight down into the hands of the machine

H-D-T-V, prescription drug for everything
Quick fix, awakening, side effects are gonna sting
Read the label, redefine, buy local from the vine
Never steal, never lie, downward dog and you’ll be fine

Please, pass the Buddha. A hit of Mr. B, open eye number three
Pass the Buddha, please. I’m ready to land, I gotta get him in my hand
Pass the Buddha, please. We need a little calm, the west has gone so wrong
